Blake Lively may have spent most of her day working, but the Gossip Girl star got to celebrate her 22nd birthday in a sexy Kate Moss for Topshop dress, starting with a stop at the Tiffany & Co. and InStyle party honoring Maria Sharapova and Frank Gehry — who collaborated on earrings the tennis star will wear during the US Open. But that was just the beginning. “I have nothing planned. I’m going to a lovely dinner, but it’s a surprise,” Lively told PEOPLE before being presented with a chocolate birthday cake at the party, but one can only assume that she spending the rest of the evening with her beau, Penn Badgley, as she coyly replied to PEOPLE about the most romantic date she’s ever been on, “I don’t know. Ask me tomorrow.” Birthday romance aside, Lively is excited about the upcoming season of Gossip Girl. “We were terrible in high school, so you can only imagine how wild we are in college,” she says. As for the season’s high profile guest appearances, “Hilary Duff is on for a few episodes and Tyra Banks makes an appearance also. I’ve known Tyra since I was a kid, so getting to work alongside her was great. She’s so gracious and kind and Hilary is just a fun, sweet girl. I love getting to know her and having people on that we really enjoy.” So, aside from Ed Westwick’s character, Chuck Bass, smooching another man, what other mass texts will Gossip Girl be sending come fall? “A lot will be happening. Serena is looking for her father, so she’s focusing a lot on that and Chuck and Blair are finally a couple!” Lively reveals. It’s true! Multiple Gossip Girl insiders confirm to me exclusively that the CW phenom is currently shooting an episode for its upcoming third season in which Ed Westwick’s legendary lothario kisses another man.

So who’s the lucky guy? And what are the circumstances surrounding the same-sex smooch? Keep reading for all the spoilery details…First things first: Sorry to disappoint, but no, it’s not Chace Crawford. Westwick’s “romantic” interest is up-and-comer Neal Bledsoe (CSI: NY, Guiding Light), who’s guest-starring in episode 6 as Josh Ellis, NYU’s head of freshman affairs. Since Josh is tasked with selecting an incoming student for the honor of delivering the freshman speech, he’s, shall we say, a person of interest to Blair. In fact, she’s so determined to snag the slot that she goes so far as to pimp out her boyfriend out to the gay guy in charge.

The catch? All you need to know is there is one. Oh, and wait until you hear what Chuck says to Blair following the lip-lock. (Must. Resist. Temptation. To. Spoil.)

Chace Crawford really knows how to celebrate a birthday.

The Gossip Girl heartthrob turned 24 on Saturday, and the actor marked the occasion by flying in 15 friends from his hometown of Dallas to New York for the weekend, People magazine reports.

Once they arrived in the New York, Crawford’s Texas homies joined the star and some of his show-biz pals, including Gossip Girl co-star Sebastian Stan and actor Toby Hemingway for a flight to Water Mill, New York, where they partied at a private residence for the weekend. The merry crew indulged in barbecue, drinks, swimming, kayaking and a speedboat ride.

“It was the best birthday Chace ever had because he was amongst his closest friends,” says a source. “His hometown friends got along great with all his New York city pals.”

Sounds like a blast, but where was Chace’s ex-roommate, Ed Westwick? Boy, when Crawford decides he’s done with someone, he really means it.
